The Observation of Air-borne Fungi in Jeonbuk Area.

Abstract
Air-borne Fungi, which are abundant virtually everywhere all of the earth, have become one of the important medical fields for its increasing relationship with human beings as the source of opportunistic infections or allergic disorders such as chronic urticaria and bronchial athma. And very frequently these air-borne fungi haveits position as laboratory contaminants during fungus culture, which make dermatologists need to identify them.
The survey was performed to see the status of air-borne fungi in this area, Jeonbuk province, and, tocompare it with the reports from the other areas in this country.
The results were as follows :
1. Among the total 626 colonies sampled from seven places, Hormodendrum was first in frequency as 515 colonies (82.3%)¢¥. After that, the order of frequency was as follows : Mycelia sterila(6. 4% ), Penicillium and Alternaria(both were 4.3%), Cryptococcus(1. 0 %) and Aspergillus(0. 5%)
2. The average number of colonies in each petri dish placed on the outdoor sites is twice as many as the average number of indoor¢¥s.
3. There is generally no difference between the data from 1316 meter hight and the ones from the surface level.
4. The number of the colonies collected in the afternoon is twice as many as the number of the colonies collected in the morning time.
